I don't always know at the time where and when my artwork gets its influence. But I'm highly suspicious it has something to do with these beautiful coloured sunsets we had throughout winter here in Raglan New Zealand. This is a picture of our local beach.

I love these little coincidences which happen when I make my own paper out of recycled material. And how fitting, it's a SEPtember show .
THE MAKING OFF
A short little video, an extract of my July Patreon video, how these pieces got created.
It doesn't happen often but it is my ideal way of creating a series of artwork, to work on several pieces at the same time. I feel a series of work becomes then a whole when it is created with the same mood of time.

7 pieces inspired by New Zealand winter walks when the chances are high you find yourself at a vast beach by yourself. Do you feel alone?

Not me. I see the trees looking, the waves talking to me, the birds following me. Driftwood is positioning itself, begging to be picked up by me to be the chosen one to become an art piece.

Are you looking? Can you see them?

The white is the cold of the winter, the beige is the colour of our sand and the orange - pink are the sunsets...
