Mural for the Huntly West Community Hub | Commission by Creative Waikato
Huntly | New Zealand
2013
Creative Waikato works with businesses, artists and communities together with the attempt to improve neighborhoods with graffiti issues, neglected buildings and general signs and symptoms of poverty.
My art is the medium to connect community members, gives children and teenagers permission to be playful, create something together, they can take ownership of and hopefully uplifts the corner of this neighborhood with a colourful happy fantasy world.
I made everyone sign who felt like it. It was beautiful to see their pride.

A lady working in the building told me years later when we met in my Gallery and Studio shop in Raglan, that my mural is the only one that hasn't been graffitied over up to date.
